As I see it...

I appreciate...my wonderful husband, my loving cats, my pretty stable life, courtesy, generosity, kindness, serenity, Manolo Blahnik, Neiman Marcus, M.A.C. cosmetics, our freedom, wisdom, gratitude, learning, teaching. I don't appreciate...bad-ass kids being raised by bad-ass parents, people who don't learn from their mistakes, bad odor, cheap clothes, bad tippers, women who think dick is the answer to all questions, bad designer imitations.

Where Have You Gone, Spring?

It is cold as sh*t, here! Not to mention super, super windy. Isn't the first day of Spring like next Monday? Boy, you wouldn't know it by the weather forecast for this week. It's supposed to be cold all week (highs in the 40s, lows in the 20s) and we might even see some snow on Friday. I am sick of all this cold already! Where have you gone, warm weather?

Work yesterday wasn't too bad. Tom and Jason were there and it is always swell when they are because they can always be counted on to help. I had Ms. Big Un for the second day in a row and really, I just wanted to die. This woman weighs 390 pounds and to turn her required 6 people! I hated that more than anything because it is always so complicated coordinating with everyone when you need their help. By the time everyone got together, it was close to 5:30 pm.

Then, I don't know what I was thinking but I volunteered to "mentor" a student nurse for the day. Her name was Myla (prounounced Mila). She was smart and I believe she will do really well as a nurse, but I got really behind with my patient care because I had to explain everything to her. She was sincerely grateful to me though for the experience and that made-up for the bitterness I felt as I saw myself getting more behind in my work as the day progressed. She also gave me the nicest compliment when she said I seemed like I had been a nurse for longer than 3 years! Of course, she really doesn't know better as a student nurse. I could've b.s.'ed her the entire day and I doubt she would have known the difference, but it was still very nice to hear.

Well, I hear hubby pulling in the garage. Time to eat some soup!
