As I see it...

I appreciate...my wonderful husband, my loving cats, my pretty stable life, courtesy, generosity, kindness, serenity, Manolo Blahnik, Neiman Marcus, M.A.C. cosmetics, our freedom, wisdom, gratitude, learning, teaching. I don't appreciate...bad-ass kids being raised by bad-ass parents, people who don't learn from their mistakes, bad odor, cheap clothes, bad tippers, women who think dick is the answer to all questions, bad designer imitations.

Let's Get You Caught Up

My, my, my, what have we here? Well, it looks like a blog that has not been blogged in many weeks! I guess I've been a bad blogger, huh :o( Well, let's get you caught up then!

Since my memory is shot, I'm going to update from the most current until the last entry I made, k? K, so this weekend, Philly got hammered with about a foot of snow. The snow started to fall on Saturday afternoon, finally bidding sayonara on Sunday morning. I worked Friday night and all night long, my co-workers had to hear me stress out about the Big Storm. Snow never used to faze me until last February when I got in a 1-car accident on my way to work after slipping on some black ice. That was no fun at all. I did a full 360 degrees on an exit ramp and I swear I saw my whole life flash before me. Sounds cliche I know, but it's true. Since then, I don't drive in the snow. Period. I'm scheduled to work tonight and whether or not I make an appearance is still up in the air.

On to some good news: The Eagles are finally going to the Super Bowl! The Birds beat Michael Vick and the Atlanta Falcons 27-10 in a game that was played pretty well. Terrell Owens was still out with a broken ankle, but Coach Andy Reid said he's most likely going to play in the Super Bowl on February 6 in Jacksonville. They'll play the New England Pats who are a 6-point fave to win. I don't know about all that, man. I mean, Tom Brady is the shyt, but Donovan ain't nuffin' to eff with either. That boy can make some plays! And plus, with T.O. back and the rest of the team playing extremely well, I think the Eagles have a really good chance at an upset. Ooooh, can't wait!

Some neutral news: The house-building is moving forward. As planned is another story. We went to sign the Purchase Agreement on December 26th, signing a contract for Lot #71, Elkins Provincial model. Our address was to be 636 Benson Lane. Well, about a week later, Greg, our salesperson/realtor, called us to let us know that Lot #71 receeded too far back to accomodate an Elkins; therefore, he offered us Lot #72 for the same price as Lot #71. Lot #72 is $10k more and really the lot that Melvin had a hard-on for so to him, this was good news. I, on the other hand, am so-so about it. I unfortunately have inherited my father's suspicious nature and so naturally, I think we're being played here somehow. Only time will tell, I guess. And then the securing a mortgage part of it all. About a month ago, everything seemed kosher with the mortgage lenders. Even after he saw our credit reports, Brendan the Broker said that a $600k prime mortgage was not going to be a problem to get. Now all of a sudden, the term "sub-prime" is being thrown around all over the place because Melvin is a contractor and can't prove steady income for 2 years. What a blow! I really hope we get this mortgage at a decent rate because working 5 12-hour shifts to cover this mortgage is not something I would like to do.

Well, I'm going to end this here for now. I'm getting really cold in this office so I'm going to get back in the bed with darling hubby so I can get under our cozy electric blanket with him :o)
