As I see it...

I appreciate...my wonderful husband, my loving cats, my pretty stable life, courtesy, generosity, kindness, serenity, Manolo Blahnik, Neiman Marcus, M.A.C. cosmetics, our freedom, wisdom, gratitude, learning, teaching. I don't appreciate...bad-ass kids being raised by bad-ass parents, people who don't learn from their mistakes, bad odor, cheap clothes, bad tippers, women who think dick is the answer to all questions, bad designer imitations.

From the depths of subprime hell, I still rise

I've been on a credit-applying binge for a few days now. I'm on a high and I just can't stop! It all started with Providian. I received a Pre-Approved application for a platinum visa with a credit limit up to $5000.00 last week (still waiting for a response from them). Now, for those who are "in the know", pre-approved basically means you are going to get the card. The only variables are the credit limits and aprs.

Then a few days ago, I applied online for a Target Guest card (which I was previously denied by the way) and was instantly approved for $200.00! Ok, not very much, but that's the standard from what I understand. And although Target is stingy with initial credit limits, from what I hear, they are extremely generous with credit limit increases so mine should be up there in no time. My adrenaline was high so the same night, I decided to apply for a Seaman's Furniture credit card and was instantly approved for $3500.00!

Then, for the biggie. Now, I really, really doubt that I'm going to be approved for this, but yes ladies and gentlemen, I actually had the nerve to apply for an American Express Blue! I applied online and I received a message saying something like my application needs further verification and review. In short, they don't think I'm good enough :o( Oh well.... At least, now I actually have the nerve to even apply. Back in my can't-get-a-credit-if-I-gave-you-all-my-viable-organs-AND-first-born-child days, I couldn't even utter the name American Express. But as the days get brighter, and my credit gets cleaner, I'm getting bolder and bolder.

And then, just for chuckles, I decided to apply for a Home Depot credit card since hubby and I have wanted one for as long as I can remember (we just looove the place!) and BAM, instantly approved online for $2000.00! My, what a wonderful day :o) I really didn't think I would get it since I've heard it's tough to get, but I guess my stars were aligned properly. And then just to finish off, I applied for a Lowe's credit card. I got one of those messages like the one American Express gave me so I think that one was a waste of a credit inquiry. Oh well... Anyways, I will keep you posted on my road to Prime Time!
